I have spent the past 72 hours or so obsessing over aquaponics, urban farming, and other sustainable living activities/habits/ways of life. In our search we've learned some awesome things, and plan on setting out on our own to learn about this exciting farming practice of the future. In the times we live in, I feel that it is our responsibility to learn all we can to revolutionize the way we live and in the process demystify the ideas and practices surrounding self-sustainability.
In this blog I want to share what I'm learning, and why we are so compelled to share it. I don't have much time to write today (We're about to go to our local hydroponics store in just a bit!) but I'll do my best to write on a regular-ish basis. I hope that this becomes a new way of life for us, one piece at a time.
*** In the future (this is as much a reminder to myself as information for you) I hope to have a "Walk of Shame: People using a wonderful idea that can feed the world to feed the greed that has already led to world hunger and make ginormous amounts of money in the process and keep you in the dark and intending to keep you dependent on them instead of learning for yourself" This will be a list of some of the scummy kinds of people we've found in our search already who have publicly shamed themselves by obviously taking advantage of peoples' lack of knowledge on a fairly new (to the general public) subject.
(hopefully I come up with a better blog title than that)
examples of this shameful behavior is mentioned in this Friendly Aquaponics post highlighting their aquaponic micro-system plans.
